If you are a member of Second Baptist, or are considering joining, we have multiple opportunities for service. Not every ministry is a good fit for every individual, but we believe God has uniquely equipped people to serve, and it is our desire to help you find the right place for you!
Below you will see a list of current ministry needs. This list will be updated as the needs change. If you see something that interests you, please see the Pastor or ministry leader listed for more information.
Children’s Workers Needed
We are currently undergoing a restructuring in our children’s ministry. If you are interested in helping in a Sunday school class for children, or working in our Sunday morning Jr. Church (ages 4 years to 2nd grade) please see Pastor Foster. Sunday School classes will be conducted from September to the end of May. All children’s workers will be asked to submit a child abuse clearance.
Nursery Workers Needed
Our nursery has been recently remodled. We are praying and trusting God to send us families with nursery age children. If you would like to volunteer to work in our nursery 1 to 2 services a month, please see either Pastor Foster or Melissa Cyr. All children’s workers will be asked to submit to a child abuse clearance.
Welcome Podium Staffer Needed
Are you friendly? Do you enjoy meeting new people? We are in need of an individual who is willing to staff our welcome booth on Sunday mornings 15 minutes before the sunday school and morning service hour. The greeter will need to be about to smile, offer information and directions to visitors, and hand out any welcome materials that may be available.
Janitorial Volunteers Needed
We are in need of individuals with a desire to help behind the scenes by cleaning the buildings and grounds on a rotating schedule. This is a great ministry opportunity for families with children. All supplies and equipment will be provided by the church. You provide the elbow grease! Two families or units currently needed.
Parking Lot Greeters Needed
It is our desire that every person who comes onto the property be greeted with warm friendly smile and a handshake. Parking lot greeters help with parking lot flow, and being the first line of welcome to the visitors and members of Second Baptist. Parking lot greeters should be people who are alert and have a great attitude. They should be willing to help answer any questions and direct visitors to the appropriate locations.
